Asian Handicap Guide: From Beginner to Advanced
Asian Handicap is a betting type developed as an alternative to traditional 1X2 betting. It eliminates the draw outcome, creating a two-outcome market.
Core Concept
To balance the difference between a strong team and a weak team, the stronger team is given a "handicap" (disadvantage).
Handicap Types
Whole Number Handicap (-1, -2, +1, +2)
Example: Barcelona -1 vs Getafe
Half Number Handicap (-0.5, -1.5, +0.5, +1.5)
Example: Manchester City -1.5 vs Brighton
There is no push with half-number handicaps -- there is always a clear outcome.
Quarter Number Handicap (-0.25, -0.75, -1.25, -1.75)
This handicap is actually a combination of two bets:
Example: Bayern -0.75 (i.e., -0.5 and -1.0)
